Since 1996, the producers of Martinican rum have been the only holders of the AOC label, a distinguishing factor that has helped it spread all over the world.
Martinican rum has its roots in the first sugarcane plantations that covered the island. There are no less than 14 distilleries and sugar refineries, 8 still in operation, which ensure that this unique savoir-faire continues to thrive.
