Quotas: Martinique rums take the lion's share !
It is at the end of a long battle between the sister islands, that the Ministry of the French West Indies has just established the new quotas of rum export, implicitly recognizing the excellence of Martinican AOC rums.
Let us keep in mind that on the 144 000 hectolitres of rum from the French West Indies that will supply the national market, Martinique now has 44.53% of the quota, Guadeloupe 35%, Réunion 19% and French Guiana just under 1%.
The French government thus recognises the particularly important efforts made in recent years by all the players in the sector to make Martinique the rum capital of the world.
